Hello again,

I hope that November is treating you well!

I have been spending a lot of time researching and designing Even More Cats Doing Science!  I know the January launch feels far away to you, but it feels ridiculously close to me!

😨

There were a fair number of people who sent me messages on various social media asking that I include pin designs for various analytical chemistry instrumentation.  Admittedly, I had to google half of what was being said in those messages, but I think I have gotten a handle on what was being proposed.

I think this design is going to be one of those things where if you are in that space it is immediately recognizable, but if you aren't in that space it's just going to read like a big gray rectangle, haha.

I present to you, the Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry Cat!

Let me know in the comments below: What is your favorite analytical chemistry instrumentation?

That was probably the nerdiest question I have ever asked, and I loved that I got to ask it!

Please feel free to share this campaign with anyone you know who might enjoy Even More Cats Doing Science!

Kindest regards,

Featured in Chemical & Engineering News!

Hello again!

I am really excited to share that last week my Titration Cat was featured in Chemical & Engineering News's annual Holiday Gift List!

Chemical & Engineering News is a weekly publication that provides news and information about the world of chemistry. It is published by the American Chemical Society (ACS).

As you can imagine this feels like quite the feather in my cap!

The Titration Cat is from my previous More Cats Doing Science project, and is currently available at my site as well as my Etsy shop

Distillation Cat Preview

This was also pretty coincidental timing as I have been working on a new chemistry design, the Distillation Cat!

I am not the most knowledgeable person when it comes to chemistry, so I posted an earlier version of this pin design in the r/chemistry subreddit and got some amazing feedback on ways to make the design more faithful to actual lab setups.

Thank you so much for the support you have shown for my upcoming project!  I can't wait to share Even More Cats Doing Science with you leading up to the launch in January 2026!

Kindest regards,

Science Fiction!?!
4 months ago – Thu, Oct 30, 2025 at 11:58:30 AM

Hello again fellow Science Fans!

I have been working the graveyard shift in my studio to make sure I get as many new Science Cats designed before the project launch in January.

I while I was working I caught a stray thought and decided to create this classic Science Fiction Cat design.  (Don't worry, there will be plenty of hard science designs for even the nerdiest pin enthusiast)

Works of fiction have been a powerful influence on the work of many in the scientific community.  Exploring themes of what might be possible, as well as the social and moral implications of those advances.  I thought that, despite its fictional nature, Mary Shelly's Frankenstein would be wonderful inspiration for a pin design dedicated to those creative works that drive us to wonder and imagine what might be possible in the future.

I hope you enjoy this design.  I am looking forward to sharing more of the next round of Science Cats as we inch closer to the launch in January.

If you haven't already, please head on over to the project page and sign up to make sure that you get notified when the floodgates open and I unleash Even More Cats Doing Science! upon the world in January!

I don't like to admit it, but seeing the number of project followers going up is great motivation to continue working on more Science Cats!

Have a safe and happy Halloween!

Histology/Cytology designs!

Hello again,

January sounds far away, but it really isn't!  I am hard at work creating all sorts of new designs of cats doing science and science adjacent activities!

Today I wanted to show off two new designs that I have been working on.  There may still be some edits to these, but they are pretty close to finalized.

These ideas were plucked directly from comments in the Wish List update, so if you have some fun Science Cat ideas for the upcoming campaign, please let me know!

I am looking forward to sharing many more new designs leading up to the project launch in January!

Science Cat Wish List!
5 months ago – Thu, Oct 02, 2025 at 06:45:32 AM

I'm making a list and checking it twice!

I am super excited to be working on Even More Cats Doing Science!  I am busy brainstorming ideas, making sketches, and working on production ready designs for this project, and I would like to invite you to take part in that process!

I have a ton of fun ideas for cats doing science and science adjacent activities, but I bet you do too.

I would especially love to hear from people who work in fields that are underrepresented in terms of fun accessories to represent their work.  I can find dozens of different pin designs of kitty bakers, but I'm pretty sure if you are looking for an astrophysics cat pin, the only one you will find is mine, haha.

Please feel free to comment below with any sciencey ideas you might have.

Maybe a kitty working at an archeological dig site, or a gastroenterologist cat, or maybe a feline using a microtome!.

I can't promise that I will use all of the wonderful suggestions, but it never hurts to have an abundance of ideas to work with.

Thank you so much for supporting this project!

Kindest regards,
Joshua R Pinkas
